Upstate NY Demos Planned: Albany, NY 1/7/10

Standing up for Democracy
And the Horses That Helped Build it:

America Protests for Wild Horses
Albany NY - Thursday Jan 7 - 11am -1pm

Roundup cost to US taxpayers: $1.7 million.
Cost to the horses: priceless. One mare and one foal has died (that we know of) this
week in the roundup, 2,000 more will lose their homes and family ties.

Can you join us this Thursday in Albany NY?
Date: Thursday, January 7
Time: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Where: The Capitol, Albany NY

This peaceful protest on behalf of America's wild horses and burros is part of a grassroots
nationwide campaign. Pressure is building on the Administration and the Bureau of
Land Management (BLM) to halt the inhumane roundup of wild American mustangs on the
Calico Wilderness Area of Nevada.

Our mission: 1) to educate the press and the public
2) call for an immediate halt to the roundups
3) call for a Congressional investigation into the Wild Horse and
Burro Program currently under the direction of the Bureau of
Land Management.
We will gather on the south side of the NYS Capitol Building in Albany, NY. Location is marked by the statue of Civil War general Philip Henry Sheridan on horseback.
Please join us in a peaceful demo to bring public and media awareness to the inhumane
Calico Mountain Complex wild horse and burro gather currently being conducted against
the recommendation of U.S. District Court Judge Paul Friedman.
The BLM plans to gather another 14,000 wild horses and burros in 2010 despite having
30,000+ in feedlots and holding facilities across the US.

IT WOULD BE - HOOVE YOU TO LEARN ABOUT THE PLIGHT OF AMERICAS WILD HORSES
AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. THEY NEED YOUR HELP NOW! CALL PRESIDENT
OBAMA (202) 456-1111 AND TELL HIM TO STOP THE INHUMANE BLM ROUNDUPS.
