I have visited this tiny little ex-mining town numberous times in the past while crusing around the country visiting wild horse and burro herds and ghost-towns of the old southwest. Back then, there wasent as much tourist traffic as apparently there is today.
They should find something better to feed the burros if the tourists are to feed them at all. My vet tells me too many carrots are no good for any animal as they are loaded with sugar. She recommends instead using large "hay stretcher" pellets as a treat. Works for me.
