According to the BLM, there are 139 livestock permittees in the Ely District Lands; 10 are sheep farmers and 129 are cattle ranchers. For all the stats and info and numbers they are pushing at us here, as far as recordkeeping, allotments and their way of figuring in "Animal Unit Months," (AUMs), ....it is hard to tell and they are not making it easy for us to figure the ratio of how many cows (or sheep) to every wild horse are grazing on these lands. We will have to figure that out for ourselves, and we will, eventually.
Click on title above to go to the BLMs site where they show lease-holders whos permits have recently been renewed.
